Young Advisor Award: Honouring Our Change-Makers

Young advisors are the future of an industry that’s rapidly transforming, and Knowledge Bureau will be honoring an up-and-coming change-maker at November’s Distinguished Advisor Conference in Quebec City. Nominations for the Distinguished Young Advisor Award are being accepted until August 31, 2018.

One of last year’s recipients, Jonathan Earle, Financial Advisor at Bell Financial and Manulife Securities Incorporated, outlines the importance of recognizing the achievements of young advisors and the contribution that they make to the future of an industry that’s being influenced by great change. He says, “Change in the financial services industry continues to accelerate on all fronts – products, regulations and technology – with no signs of slowing. This is challenging, but for young advisors it also presents a tremendous opportunity for those with strong value propositions (that is, providing comprehensive, holistic advice) to stand out. The opportunity is amplified as many veteran advisors start planning their retirement.”

Jonathan adds, “I was honored to win the DAC Distinguished Young Advisor Award because it celebrates eight metrics of success rather than simply sales production, and I believe this is truly reflective of what’s going to make up the next generation of valued advisors. Furthermore, the recognition was well received by clients, prospects and colleagues, which has benefited me greatly. Pretty exceptional conference too!”

One of 2016’s award recipients, Lindsay Sawyer Fay, says, “Receiving the Distinguished Young Advisor Award was a tremendous honour and validation of my decision to devote myself to client-focused, needs-based planning. The credibility and comfort it conveys to new families as we engage with them in the planning process is invaluable. I’m able to prominently display in our office that I’ve been recognized by such a widely respected organization, The Knowledge Bureau, and the standards it sets for our industry and profession.”

Knowledge Bureau is so proud of these young advisors, and the difference they’re making in transforming the future of the industry. Nominations for the 2018 award are still being accepted until August 31. Submit your applications now!
