Introducing Winter DAW sponsor APATC

Knowledge Bureau is pleased to announce that The Association of Professional Accounting & Tax Consultants Inc. (APATC) will join the January Personal Tax Update Workshop tour as a national sponsor.

The APATC is a not-for-profit Canadian association representing non-designated professional practitioners in accounting, bookkeeping and taxation. Members of the APATC are primarily self-employed, and also include those who are employees of accounting or bookkeeping firms. Founded in 1981, members of APATC span Canada, from British Columbia to Nova Scotia and every province in between.

“Independent non-designated accounting and tax professionals face many challenges and the ability to network within our membership, on a non-competitive basis, provides multiple benefits to our members,” says Lisa McKee, Chairperson of APATC. “Sometimes you just need someone to bounce ideas and situations off of.”

APATC membership also provides the opportunity to acquire Errors & Omissions Insurance, which is sometimes very difficult to acquire for the independent accounting and tax consultant.

The APATC and Knowledge Bureau have been working together since 2009 on the provision and enhancement of educational opportunities for APATC members. The Board of APATC are pleased to sponsor the January 2016 Tax Update Distinguished Advisor Workshop, further increasing the synergistic benefits of our two organizations.

The goal of the APATC is simple – to provide support to members by promoting professionalism, continuing education and greater recognition:

  • To elevate, promote and maintain ethics and high standards of accounting, income tax and business consulting services in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
  • To foster and advance the interests of those engaged in such services.
  • To encourage continuing education among its members in the theory and practice of accounting and taxation.
  • To promote the interchange of knowledge associated with accounting, management techniques and income tax.
  • To offer professional and business practice guidance to its members.

The Knowledge Bureau is pleased to provide continuing educational and professional development opportunities to APATC members through certificate courses leading to the prestigious DFA-Tax Services Specialist™, DFA-Bookkeeping Services Specialist™ and MFA™ designations in specialized studies including tax, retirement, investment and business services.
