Spotlight on Our Grads - Kathy Lloyd, MFA

Kathy Lloyd earned her MFA-Succession and Estate Planning designation with Knowledge Bureau in 2012 with honours. We are pleased to have Kathy as one of our distinguished grads.

How the MFA Program Improved Her Business:

I work with Insurance licensed advisor and sometimes our CU members who own very successful businesses throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. I am often invited to meet with farming families to discuss their exit strategies. The MFA course provided me with new ideas to better facilitate these planning meetings with business owners at their Mature Secure stage of their business lives.

Career Highlights:

• Active in the Financial Planning / Insurance industry for 39 years.
• Sold with London Life 1975-1996, GWL Resource Centre 1996-2008, and Credential Inc 2008-to present

Work-Life Activities:

• Volunteer with Advocis (LUAC) over the last 39 years
• Active in sporting community in Winnipeg and across Manitoba
• On Mission Staff for Team Manitoba at 2009 and 2013 Canada Summer Games plus Mission Staff for 2007 Western Canada Summer Games
• Sat on Host Management Committee for Team Canada Volleyball Center in Winnipeg from 1994 to 2007
• Coached Grant Parks Boys Volleyball from grade 8-12 (same group for 5 years): Won 3 City Championships and qualified for Provincial Men’s Volleyball for four consecutive years

Future Knowledge Bureau Events:

Kathy will be joining the Knowledge Bureau for her third consecutive Distinguish Advisor Conference. The 2014 DAC will be in beautiful Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
