Knowledge Bureau’s DMA Accounting Services Specialist program (Knowledge Bureau - World Class Financial Education) is a comprehensive designation program designed to provide strong competencies for people who work in accounting departments and tax offices.
The first course in the program begins with a thorough understanding of foundational bookkeeping principles and processes that all accounting systems use. Students learn the basic accounting equation, debits and credits, trial balances and financial statement preparation at its core; so that they can understand how to record the transactions of a business properly – from revenue and expense to balance sheet entries.
We then cover variations in multiple business profiles, advanced payroll, management accounting in budgeting and forecasting and valuation for business transition. As organizations grow, accounting services specialists generally work in specific areas of the accounting cycle, such as accounts receivable or accounts payable or payroll departments simply because of the large volume of transactions.
Will this prepare graduates for work in small and larger companies? The short answer is yes to both: the successful graduate will be prepared to work in a smaller company in multiple functions, a larger company in specific departments and to assist the self-employed with routine business management matters.
The certificate vocational courses in the DMA-Accounting Services Specialist program are comprehensive and practical in nature, approximately 30 hours each and 180 hours for the whole program, and feature exposure to common software programs used by SMEs.
