New!  Check out the Official 2017 T1 and 2018 Income Tax Estimator

Knowledge Bureau is pleased to release two important tools to assist taxpayers and their advisors with authoritative tax information that’s fast and accurate: the 2018 Income Tax Estimator in the Knowledge Bureau Toolkit, and the new T1 Return, which appears in EverGreen Explanatory Notes.

“At a time when taxpayers and advisors are increasingly frustrated with long delays getting accurate information from CRA, together with a difficult-to-navigate canada.ca website, Knowledge Bureau is proud to offer these powerful research and calculation tools to save advisors and their clients time and money,” says Evelyn Jacks, President of Knowledge Bureau.

The new 2018 Income Tax Estimator includes indexation of all federal tax brackets, personal amounts, and non-refundable credits as confirmed by CRA in the 2018 TD1 forms and payroll formulas. Provincial amounts for 2018 have also been updated based on current tax law, although these are still subject to retroactive changes when the provincial budgets are presented each year. These new tools are now available for subscription at this site: Subscribe to Income Tax Estimator 2018.

“We are also pleased to invest in the highest standards of education by travelling to six cities across Canada next month with our experienced expert instructors to expand on the law behind the lines,” Ms. Jacks added, “so that professionals from the tax and financial services can absorb the detail well before tax filing season gets under way in earnest.”

Knowledge Bureau will embark on its 6-city tour with its popular Advanced Personal Tax Update starting January 18 in Winnipeg. These CE Summits provide a vibrant peer-to-peer networking learning experience featuring true-to-life case studies and a comprehensive desk reference advisors love to refer to throughout tax season.

Early enrolment is recommended as these events sell out fast: Registration ends January 10.

Knowledge Bureau President Evelyn Jacks, MFA™, DFA-Tax Services Specialist™, will travel with two outstanding Master Instructors, Walter Harder, BSc., DFA – Tax Services Specialist™, the creator of the 2018 Income Tax Estimator, and perennial favorite Alan Rowell, MFA™, DFA-Tax Services Specialist™. Check out the full-day agenda. The most up-to-date news on proposed changes for families with proprietorships or private corporations will also feature prominently, as will strategies for audit-proofing as a defense against aggressive CRA follow ups.
