Grad Spotlight - Margaret Hodgson, DFA-Tax Services Specialist

Earning her DFA-Tax Services Specialist designation in 2007, Margaret Hodgson has been an active alumna of Knowledge Bureau ever since, regularly attending our live Distinguished Advisor Workshops and making the annual trip to the Distinguished Advisor Conference.

Work-Life Activities:

Margaret is a Registered Public Accountant (RPA) and DFA-Tax Services Specialist. She has operated her business in Birtle, Manitoba for over 25 years, providing personalized accounting services to over 700 Manitoba small business clients and individuals, including complete bookkeeping and accounting services, income tax efficiency, and assistance transitioning to retirement. With four staff, her company also provides training to clients and their employees, teaching record keeping, payroll, financial management and administrative skills.

Margaret is an active and committed member of her community. Her many other career achievements and activities include:

  • Certificate of Recognition received as an Affiliated member of the Association of  Professional  Accounting & Tax Consultants
  • Awarded an Honorary Life Membership Award in the Association of Manitoba Municipalities in recognition of her commitment to her community, the Westman region and the Province of Manitoba
  • Current member of the Board of Directors for the Vanguard Credit Union
  • Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Parkland Community Linc
  • Board member of Manitoba Surface Rights Board
  • Board member of Manitoba Municipal Employee Benefit Board
  • Chairperson Advisory Board, Assiniboine Community College, Parkland Southwest Regional Campus
  • Chairperson Provincial Recreation Conference for Community Volunteers Committee
  • Former member of Manitoba Municipal Act and Related Statues Review Committee
