Grad in the News – Kristin Ramlal, RWM™

Knowledge Bureau designate Kristin Ramlal is a graduate of the RWM™ program, Distinguished Advisor Conference speaker, and a founding member of the new Society of Real Wealth Managers™. Her commitment to education is inspiring! Here is her story:

How would you tell your Knowledge Bureau story to a friend?

“I was in search of deeper holistic financial advisory education and external networking opportunities within the Financial Services Industry and I started attending the Knowledge Bureau CE Summits in 2016. I then attended the 2018 Distinguished Advisor Conference and Business Builder Retreat where I became aware of the Real Wealth Management Program™ and launch of the Society of Real Wealth Managers™, which I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be part of.

Why did you decide to take a KB course?

I’ve always believed in and practiced holistic wealth advisory, so I decided to take the RWM™ program to strengthen my holistic wealth advisory value proposition and learn innovative and forward looking real wealth management practices that could benefit my clients and business partners.

Were you happy with the outcomes?

“I am more confident and happy than ever to share my values and beliefs surrounding the RWM™ Framework and am proud to support the growth of financial professionals who strive to work within the Real Wealth Management™ Framework.”

Did anything surprise you in the program?

“What surprised me most was the simplicity of the RWM™ framework, but power and strength of the messaging. Furthermore, the education and coaching provided on soft side of real wealth management was highlighted, which is not always readily covered in technical courses but I believe is absolutely essential given the shift of clients needs, wants and expectations in today’s financial services industry.”

What did you find difficult?

“The only difficulty I found with the program was to find the time to complete the course within the designated expiry date (3 months) due to my busy workload/commitments in and out of the office. Otherwise, there was no difficulties with the online course, as it was very user friendly, provided many real life case examples and scenarios for consideration and provided access to many valuable financial planning and real wealth management calculators for ease of modeling for clients and compliance purposes.”

(Editor’s note: Knowledge Bureau has now extended the study period for all new students to 9 months thanks to Kristin’s feedback).

How did you feel when taking the courses?

“I felt reassured that the advice I have been providing to my clients and business partners has been sound and reflecting the modern financial services industry needs and wants of Canadians; holistic wealth advisory!”

What did your family think about the amount of time spent?

“My family/children always support my professional development and had no concerns over the time well spent.”

What are your future goals?

“My future goals within the industry is to continue to share my support for the RWM™ Framework and help grow financial services professional membership to the Society of Real Wealth Mangers. I am pleased to be helping launch the Manitoba Chapter.”
