DAC Acuity 2023 in Banff was truly remarkable. The Delegates in attendance represented a multi-disciplinary array of leading professionals from the tax and financial services poised to position themselves as advisors of the future. In recognition of this, the DAC 20^th Anniversary Awards honoured some outstanding winners: including the Advisor of the Future Award, New Movers & Shakers Award, Industry Change Makers Award, and The Distinguished Master Advisor Award. The Imagine – Advisor of the Future Award Winner went to the Designate with the Highest Average Marks throughout all programs taken with Knowledge Bureau over the past 15 years who has demonstrated the ability to adapt to transformative change in her career as a Tax Services Specialist, by embracing a holistic Real Wealth Management approach to client services.

Congratulations to winner Allison Loureiro, DFA - Tax Services Specialist™, RWM™
(96.22%).  Allison started her career with The Accounting Place in 2003. Her main focus is on the personal tax issues of their clientele. Allison has strong customer service skills, and when paired with her knowledge of the Income Tax Act, ensures her expertise and experience is professionally presented to the benefit of her clients.  In 2006, Allison earned the Distinguished Financial Advisor (Tax Services Specialist) designation with honours from The Knowledge Bureau. Allison stays up to date on the latest changes to the Income Tax Act by attending several tax workshops and conferences each year.  She has recently been honored with the Advisor of the Future award for her consistent demonstration of high marks and continuous learning at a post-secondary level in her area of specialization, which now includes the RWM™ designation, which is focused on a multi-generational, real wealth management approach to her clients’ affairs.    

The New Movers and Shakers Award was awarded to an organization in the tax, bookkeeping or financial services which has embraced the RWM™ (Real Wealth Management) philosophy with all of their advisors and who have demonstrated rapid growth.  This year we honor a firm with new growth in 4 provinces:  Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Nova Scotia.

The Industry Change Makers Award honors a Positive Disruptor for Change in the tax and financial services industry, this firm proactively advocates for change to steward sustainable wealth for their clients with an integrated approach to tax efficient investment, retirement and estate planning while driving change in the community at large through advocacy and education. This year we recognize the amalgamation of the Accounting Place and R N Croft Financial Group Inc. as a new change maker which is proactively embracing Real Wealth Management Practices.
