DAC RWM™ Panel Featuring Name in Lights Winner, Ian Wood!

Ian Wood, winner of the RWM™ Name in Lights Contest, joined the Society of Real Wealth Managers™ because he believes in the importance of the multi-stakeholder collaborative approach taught used and enjoys being part of collaborative teams with other members. Ian will be a featured expert on the panel “Planning for Disability: A Multi-Advisory Case Study” along with Kristin Ramlal and Doug Buss at DAC Acuity 2022, October 16-18 in Niagara Falls.

The panel “Planning for Disability: A Multi-Advisory Case Study” is an important discussion for all financial professionals who collaborate professionally to provide holistic wealth advisory for their clients and the important stakeholders in their lives. This includes those in tax, accounting, bookkeeping, financial and estate planning, portfolio management, pension and benefits and family law.

Significant life transitions include planning for vulnerabilities including investment, retirement, estate, succession and cross-border issues with a tax-efficient lens. Planning before a member of the family moves from capacity to incapacity is important, yet rarely done, at the period of managing risk to capital.  Learn how to solve a true-to-life case study in a multi-generational high net worth family from your Real Wealth Management Panel of specialists.

Here are some compelling reasons to come to DAC, according to our panelists:

“DAC provides a unique opportunity to network with expert partners in different fields to fill in the gaps in your knowledge while attending educational sessions that provide you with Continuing Education credits where you actually walk away feeling like you’ve learned something that can help you better serve your clients.” – Ian Wood

“Please join us at DAC Acuity in Niagara Falls to hear from financial professional from all specialists for a 360-degree perspective on the current and future landscape of the financial services industry!” – Kristin Ramlal

About the Panel Members:

Kristin Ramlal, Director of the Board, Society of Real Wealth Managers™

With nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, I've gained experience across a variety of financial services organizations and functions. These include Canadian and US personal banking, retail and institutional investment account management and supervision, portfolio analysis, security research and trading and holistic wealth advisory: including financial, retirement, tax, retirement income, philanthropy, and estate planning.

Furthermore, I am an advocate and steward of Real Wealth Management ™: A collaborative joint decision-making framework designed to provide holistic wealth planning throughout the accumulation, growth, preservation, and transition of inter-generational wealth for clients and their families, with a focus on wealth sustainability: after taxes, fees and inflation.

Ian Wood, CFP, CEA, CIM, MFA™, RWM™, MFA-P™

As a financial planner and portfolio manager, I partner with experts across Canada to provide my clients with comprehensive advice in areas of tax planning, estate planning, business transitions, and philanthropy.

I joined the Society of Real Wealth Managers™ and have integrated the strategies into my practice because I agree with the importance of the multi-stakeholder collaborative approach taught by the Society of RWM and enjoy being part of collaborative teams with other members. By having a good understanding of where my knowledge and expertise end, and where someone else can fill in the gaps, I'm able to partner with experts in tax, law, and financial planning to create a team that works together to provide the best advice to the client.

Doug Buss, CLA, CPCA, CFP, CEA, RWM™

I help business owners, their employees and families achieve their dreams. We take a holistic approach to financial planning; looking at all areas of investment, insurance, tax and estate planning. I joined the Society of RWM™ because I want to work with like-minded advisors to help our clients accumulate, grow, preserve and transfer their wealth. I put together a Personal Financial Action Plan for my clients that provides the step-by-step process for clients to fulfil of their priorities after understanding “What is important to you?”
