Financial Assistants:  Ramp up Your Professional Communications Skills

Assistants to wealth managers will gather for the first ever Assistants’ Conference in Toronto on December 5.  Knowledge Bureau President, Evelyn Jacks, will be a guest speaker, presenting on How to Ramp Up Your Communications Skills. She will also introduce a new online diploma program designed especially for wealth advisors’ assistants: the Professional Financial Assistant Diploma Program™.

The conference is being held at the Toronto Board of Trade from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Wealth advisors know their assistants must be prepared to answer numerous questions about one of the most important financial events for most families—filing their tax returns. However, during that discussion is also the perfect opportunity to engage clients in broader discussions about multi-generational wealth planning, and in the process establishing a deeper value proposition.

Highly trained assistants to professional advisors know how to ask better open-ended questions, and refer family members to make appointments for advice.  Within that process they will participate directly in enabling conversations to consolidate family wealth.

“Tax season is just around the corner and client demands for information will consume lots of time from wealth advisors and their assistants. This is a great opportunity to showcase professionalism by initiating and exploring valuable new relationships with family members and, in the process, help to consolidate family wealth,” says Mrs. Jacks.

This session will show students how to establish rapport with clients, leading to new discussions about purposeful financial decision making; help clients understand how best to ask questions of their wealth advisors about life events, financial events and economic events that lead directly to more fruitful financial planning consultations; encourage conversations about financial needs for the whole family and document them; and much more.

Evelyn Jacks is President of Knowledge Bureau, Canada’s leading educator in the tax and financial services, and author of 52 books on family tax preparation and planning including her latest Family Tax Essentials: How to Build a Wealth Purpose with a Tax Strategy.

A new online diploma program from Knowledge Bureau will be introduced at the conference to provide wealth assistants with the deeper knowledge they need to have more confident conversations with their multi-generational clients.  Here are the details:
