People in the News: Cecil Baldry-White

Cecil Baldry-White, CEO of Alitis Investment Counsel, believes there are six major challenges that wealth advisors face in attaining higher returns and longer term performance for their clients in today’s difficult investment environment, and he believes we must meet these challenges head on.

Cecil, who will be a keynote speaker at the Distinguished Advisor Conference (DAC), November 6 to 9, 2016, in San Diego, will offer several thought provoking alternatives for advisors to consider in building a proactive practice.

“A new multi-asset paradigm offers a huge opportunity to those who are willing to embrace the necessary changes to get the returns their clients need,” says Cecil. “To soar higher, in fact, embracing new solutions can make your services invaluable to your clients.”

Why is this particularly timely today? According to Cecil, the old paradigm of including only stocks and bonds no longer works as the global economy slows, often because of demographic change. Yet today 33% to 50% of balanced mutual funds are in bonds and MERs will be eclipsing returns over the next five years. This trend is worrisome as well because of the new CRM disclosure rules.

What will you learn? Cecil will focus on three key benefits for advisors at DAC:

  • What a new, diversified multi-asset paradigm looks like and how it mirrors the operations of private pension funds or private investment clubs
  • How to position your practice to embrace new solutions needed to help your HNW clients’ assets grow
  • How you can assist your clients who don’t qualify for Private Equity Arrangements

What is the scope of the presentation? Cecil’s presentation will also cover risk mitigation and alphas generation, how to better articulate value and embrace increased competition from new market entrants and web-based services, and how to prepare your team to both survive and thrive.

Alitis Investment Counsel is a proud sponsor of DAC 2016 and will also be holding a number of information sessions throughout Canada leading up to the DAC conference, including April 13 in Winnipeg and April 19 in Vancouver.
