Distinguished Advisors and Speakers Headline the 20th Anniversary Distinguished Advisor Conference

Evelyn Jacks, President of Knowledge Bureau, is delighted to announce the headliners who will grace the prestigious stage at the Distinguished Advisor Conference (DAC), November 12 to 14 at the spectacular Banff Springs Hotel.  This includes the outstanding MCs - two New Advisor of the Year Award winners – and a powerhouse of tax, investment, insurance, retirement and estate luminaries over the two day event.

“We are incredibly honored by the presence of the outstanding leaders from the tax and financial services, who have come together to celebrate Knowledge Bureau’s 20th anniversary DAC with thought-provoking propositions around the theme,  Imagine – Break Free to Embrace Transformative Change.”  Ms. Jacks said.

She explains that the theme is both complex and ideal for the times.  “The hard part is breaking free from the paradigms we know, to truly embrace a new future of service in our professions.  All of our distinguished speakers and sponsors have topics that will empower advisors to do just that, making this year’s DAC is a  “must-do” educational event for leaders positioning for the future.”

Introducing the Distinguished MC for Day 1, November 13, is Keeley Simpson, CIM® a licensed portfolio manager and senior wealth advisor who manages just under $900MM in AUM for 330 families, with her partners, Lee and Steve, at RBS Wealth Advisory at BMO Nesbitt Burns.

Keeley was recognized with The Distinguished Young Advisor Award presented by the Knowledge Bureau in 2015.  “I was truly honored to receive the recognition. Fast forward 8 years, here I am again as the MC for the first day of the conference and a panel speaker on the topic of Advisor’s of the Future in celebration of this year’s 20th year anniversary.”

Receiving the award back in 2015 really gave Keeley the confidence to continue getting better as an advisor. “I became a licenced Portfolio Manager in 2016 which was integral in growing our business while I’ve grown my family, says Keeley.  Will & I, I have 4 wonderful young children (aged 5, 4, 3 and 17 months and 2 dogs. It’s been a bit busy, but we are so lucky!”

Since the beginning of her career in 2007, Keeley’s mission has been to educate women investors. She launched a seminar series through her alma mater (The McGill Women’s Alumnae Association) in 2009. “Thousands of women have attended and benefited from the educational content – I can’t wait to see what the future brings! I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you all during the 20th anniversary DAC Conference in Banff in November! Until then, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.”

On Day 2 Distinguished New Advisor Award Winner, Doug Buss, will be our MC! Doug who hails from Winnipeg, has 6 staff members at YourStyle Financial.   Doug has received outstanding results by committing to continuing education throughout his career. He holds the CLU, CPCA, CFP, CEA, and RWM™ designations.  His efforts have certainly paid off in his level of referability.  “We are proud that we are now serving 4 generations of families.”  Doug’s average number of referrals is 4 per client; an impressive statistic.

He plans to double his assets under management over the next 5 years.    Is there a formula for granting such a tall order?  “Yes, I use a holistic planning process called Real Wealth Management to determine what is truly important to my clients, how to best provide solutions to both the family and the multi-advisory team of specialists we work with and, personally I live a very disciplined lifestyle to bring balance to all.”
