“This course exceeded my expectations”

Port Elgin, Ontario’s Marlene Donaldson recently completed the T1 Professional Tax Preparation course with Knowledge Bureau in order to better understand tax changes for the current income tax year as well as to update her skills to better prepare for the upcoming season.

She said not only did the course exceed her expectations, but the course was a great challenge.

“This course exceeded my expectations,” Marlene said. “The course is very intense, providing lots of reading material between the EverGreen Notes, course manual and the Jacks on Tax book. The case studies and quizzes encourage you to research various tax questions, which I found helpful for retaining information.”

Marlene said the T1 Professional Tax Preparation course is designed for students to learn and understand every aspect of personal income tax preparation, and she highly recommends it.

“I liked that after every chapter there are case studies and a quiz to do and you receive your mark immediately after submitting. It’s a good learning tool because you have to research and really think about what you have learned in the chapter before moving on to something new in the next chapter”

Marlene said that allows the student to verify what they understand, and what they need to study more.

In terms of the Knowledge Journal, Marlene said the book is well laid out, easy to follow and has a lot of information.

“I like having a text that I can highlight, make notes in and refer back to if necessary,” said Marlene, who added she wants to keep the Knowledge Journal for future reference.

“Overall it was postie learning experience. I have learned so much and it makes me feel more confident about preparing personal income taxes this coming season.”
